1. Introduction

SmartPrepLabs ("we", "our", "us") operates the PTE Core 2026 Mock Exam application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Name and email address (via Google Sign-In or email registration)
• Profile photo (if provided through Google Sign-In)

2.2 Usage Data

We automatically collect:

• Practice session data (questions attempted, scores, time spent)
• Mock exam results and performance analytics
• App usage patterns and feature interactions
• Device type, OS version, and app version

2.3 Answers, Audio and Photos

Recording and writing can take place locally before you choose an AI action. With explicit permission, we send the recording, written answer, transcript, task question, task results or selected handwritten-answer photo through our Firebase backend to the AI processors described below. These data are used for transcription, text extraction, practice feedback, hints, scoring and mock exam reports. Do not include sensitive personal information in your answers.

In version 1.3.19 and later, the App asks for permission before a new AI action, upload for analysis, AI allowance use or mock/training reservation. Not Now cancels that AI action without sending its evidence or using its AI allowance. You can still record, write and complete local exercises. Consent is stored by account on your device for this disclosure version.

3. How We Use Your Information

4. Third-Party Services and AI Data Sharing

• Firebase / Google Cloud: authentication, protected app data and evidence storage, analytics, crash reporting and backend processing.
• Groq: voice recordings and spoken content for transcription, with OpenAI as a fallback.
• OpenAI: recordings for transcription or speaking analysis; transcripts, written answers, task questions and results for feedback, hints and mock reports; handwritten-answer photos for text extraction.
• Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini) and Document AI: task content, transcripts, written answers and results for analysis or fallback reports; handwritten-answer photos for text extraction or fallback OCR. Speaking analysis routes may also process recordings.
• RevenueCat: subscription entitlement management. Apple App Store and Google Play process purchases.

AI routing can use a primary or fallback processor from this list. Account name and email are not included in AI answer payloads. Authentication identifiers remain in our Firebase backend for access control and allowance tracking. Answer content itself may reveal personal information if you include it.

We require processors handling personal data to provide the same or equal protection as this policy, restrict processing to the service purpose, and use protected API/cloud channels. We do not sell your answers or submit them for model training. Provider security and abuse-monitoring retention can differ by endpoint and account controls; we do not promise immediate deletion by a provider or universal zero retention.

Provider data practices: Groq, OpenAI API, Google Vertex AI, and Google Document AI.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud) servers. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Firebase security rules to restrict data access
• Authentication-based access controls

6. Retention, Withdrawal and Deletion

• Local answers and recordings: may remain on your device for replay, retry and progress. Removing the App removes its local data according to your device settings.
• Temporary speaking-evaluation uploads: the client attempts deletion after processing, including failure. Cleanup failures may leave a temporary object, so deletion is not guaranteed to be immediate.
• Saved practice history and mock evidence: text, transcripts, scores, reports and uploaded mock recordings are retained in our Firebase services to support history, durable reports and retries until removed through a supported deletion process. They are not automatically erased by withdrawing AI permission.
• Provider processing: provider-specific safety, security, legal or abuse-monitoring retention may apply under the linked terms. We do not control all provider log retention.

Review or withdraw permission in Settings > AI Data Sharing > Withdraw Consent. Withdrawal stops new AI requests from that account on that installation. Requests or background report jobs already submitted may finish, and previously saved results remain available. To request removal of saved history, mock evidence or account data, contact us using the support address below. Account deletion is also available in Settings; contact support if separately stored evidence remains. We verify your account ownership before processing a data request and may retain records required for security, legal obligations or purchase accounting.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored in the App
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Request a copy of your practice history and scores through support
• Withdraw AI permission through Settings > AI Data Sharing

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us immediately.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States and Canada, where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
